- I am an associate vice president for HNTB Corporation. I have expertise in ANSI 748 earned value management systems (EVMS), logistics, planning, and CPM scheduling - completing complex commercial (high-rise and Class A interiors), educational (K-12 and higher education), healthcare (hospitals, trauma centers, research facilities), industrial (chemical and power/energy), residential (condominiums and subdivisions), retail (big box and malls) and transportation (rail and bridge) projects as an at-risk self-performing general contractor and international projects that where globally sourced; budget development and control – managing a capital programs portfolio of more than $3.5 billion annually, and serving as a chief financial officer; procurement and contract administration – estimating, negotiating, and securing over $1.8 billion in contract agreements, $800 million in subcontract agreements, and mitigating more than $700 million in claims.
In addition to expertise in the traditional program, project, and construction management and project controls functions I am skilled in advanced cash flow analysis, developing and globally deploying technology solutions and systems integrations, building and analyzing forensic schedules, creating and implementing economic planning models, risk analysis tools, and earned value management systems, facilitating risk analysis workshops, and Monte Carlo risk analysis.
Through open and timely communications, acute attention to cash flow, and insightful management of project metrics I have successfully increased the gross margin for completed projects by more than 20%. Further, I have successfully grown a self-performing GC from $2 million to over $100 million in annual revenue by actively mentoring subcontractors and aggressively pursuing project completions; grown a self-performing commercial irrigation company from $5 million to over $15 million in annual revenue in less two years through reorganization of bank debt facility and bidding practices; and grown the project controls unit from $400,000 to over $3.5 million revenue in one year through aggressive business development.
Before joining HNTB I was a regional manage for Jacobs Global Buildings NA, I was development manager for Jerome J Parks Company, a senior project controls manager for DMJM Harris/AECOM, director of business development and a senior project manager for Roy Kay, Inc./KeySpan Business Solutions and the owner of Sagacity Management and Consulting. I hold Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) and MasterFormat Accredited Instructor (MAI) certifications from the Construction Specification Institute, and Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification and Earned Value Professional (EVP) certification from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering. I am a former director and region president for the Construction Specification Institute and currently the Chair of the Schedule Risk Subcommittee for the National Defense Industry Association.
